Bio
I was born in Kremmling, CO, January 30, 1980. Raised till college in Winter Park, CO as a ski racer.  Did that for 15 years all through elementary, middle, and high school.  I also ran cross-country and track in the fall and spring during middle and high school.  I was recruited as a walk-on to the cross-country running program at Western State College in Gunnison, CO.  I spent the next five years there earning a bachelor's in business and enjoying a successful Division II running career.  I was part of a very special time in that schools running history.  We won nationals in cross-country four years in a row.  We had the winningest athlete ever in Div II in Micheal Aish, who was a 14-time national champ in x-c and track.  I was part of that elite x-c team only one year in 2001.  I was also a four time all american on the track, once in indoors in the mile, and 3 times outdoors for the 3000 meter steeplechase.  I came 2nd place in nationals twice in the steeplechase. One of those losses was to a teammate.  I was approached by my best friend's and teammates father, who suggested I try riding a bike after college, first mountain bikes for two seasons, then I switched to the road in 2003.  I rode as an amateur for one season, then was picked up by Jonathan Vaughters after I won the queen stage of the 2005 Tour of the Gila.  I rode for Slipstream/Garmin for three years in Europe, two years as part of their ProTour squad, my best result, ironically, was my very first race as a professional in the 2007 Tour of California where I came 2nd in the Prologue to eventual race winner Levi Leipheimer.

Now, I have signed a contract for a new Div III continental squad called the Bahati Foundation Pro Cycling team.  The team is based out of Southern california and the Foundation's main goals are to give opportunities for inner-city youth to pursue their dreams and goals, to get support from like-minded peers, and recieve guidance to keep their lives on the right track and off of the streets.  We will be a part of the USA's National Racing Calendar for 2010.  I am very excited to come back and race in the US this season.  The adjustment to the rigors of european racing are very difficult, and one that I did not make to my satisfaction.  My wife, Kristin, has a very successful career here in the states as an auditor and it was hard for us as we didn't spend a lot of time together.  I had my first child, a girl called Lexi in June this year and I have extremely happy to be able to stay here in the US to care for her and race my bike, I now have the best of both worlds!

I have been working with Don for the past two years and he has always been very accommodating, I am a big fan and supporter of his footwear, they are very simple shoes and that is what I like best about them.  They do their job without any fanfare.  Don and I have worked closely together to improve the performance and comfort of his footwear.  He provides me with a fantastic product, and I in turn provide him with feedback in which to make them better. We are a potent combination, and I am pleased to be a part of his company.
